Michael Klotz
(1749 – 1814)
The only Michael Klotz who appears in the historical records of the descendants of Matthias I is a son of Johann Karl Klotz who died in infancy and therefore could not have been a violin maker. It is likely that instruments bearing the label of Michael Klotz are by a maker not related to this famous branch of the Mittenwald family. His work is quite rare.
