Felice Mori Costa

18th century Emilian violin maker Felice Mori Costa's work remains relatively unknown despite his talents as a craftsman. His style displays numerous personal touches, such as uneven f-holes reminiscent of late Stradivari with extremely abbreviated inner notches. Mori Costa frequently used his own model, but also turned to Guadagnini models from time to time. Few instruments bearing his label remain, which may partly explain the rarity of his work.
