Louis Panormo
Bow maker / Violin maker
(c. 1784 – 1862)
"Designed, varnished and superintended the manufacture" is how a friend of his nephew Edward's later described Louis Panormo's real role at the family's Bloomsbury, London workshop — the actual building of its guitars fell to his brothers Joseph, George, and Edward, while Louis, son of Vincenzo Trusiano Panormo, ran the business with George's help and two recorded employees, George Middlewood and William Ambry. The scattered family establishments were brought together into one shop at 31 High Street in 1850; four years later Louis sold the whole concern to George's own son, his nephew George Lewis Panormo.
