(c. 1768 – 1837)
Son of Vincenzo Panormo, Joseph Panormo is believed to have been born in Naples and worked for his father alongside his brothers, George and Louis, in various locations. By 1801 ...Read More he was working independently in his own shop in London, where he made guitars, violins and cellos of good craftsmanship and strong personality. His son, Edward Ferdinand, assisted him from 1823, when his firm was renamed 'Jos Panormo & Son' and later 'Panormo & son'.
Joseph also went into partnership with the guitar maker Antonio Bruno in the 1820s and made guitars sold by his brother, Louis. The least settled of the Panormo brothers, he appears to have worked sporadically and died registered as a pauper.
