Johann Christian Ficker II
Violin maker
(1720 – 1772)
Johann Christian Ficker was the son and pupil of Johann Caspar Ficker in Markneukirchen and was admitted to the violin makers guild in 1755. Among the better makers of this family, he used the common Stainer model, which he executed fairly accurately. His varnish was a dull thin coating of either iron-oxide red or yellow color. Ficker also made viols and branded his work internally with * I * C * F *.
