Two of Ludwig Christian August Bausch's (1805–1871) sons carried the trade forward, working together at points along the way: Karl Friedrich Ludwig Bausch Jr., who spent years in New York before returning to Leipzig, and Otto Julius Bausch, who trained first under his own father and then went on for further study with Vauchel in Offenbach. A pupil from outside the family, Carl Gustav Otto, learned the craft under Bausch in Leipzig before setting up on his own in Markneukirchen.
