Paul Émile Miquel was a bow maker. He was the son and pupil of Nicolas, a luthier and organ builder located on Faubourg Saint-Vincent, and he established himself independently at 5 rue de Pre de Paradis around 1870. His early work followed Vuillaume lines and featured nickel-silver mounts. After 1890, he worked in the Bazin style, using silver mounts. He moved to Nancy after 1891, where he worked for Jacquot and also supplied bows to Chanot in Paris. Much of his time was devoted to repair and restoration. New bows branded as E. MIQUEL were rarely encountered.
