Reinhardt Meyer

Violin maker
(b. 1863)

Reinhardt Meyer began making violins in 1888. He established himself in Worcester, Massachusetts as a violinist and maker from 1918 to 1926. He took over the business of Samuel Parsons. About 300 violins were modeled on the 1714 Stradivari 'Dolphin' violin, and occasionally on Guarneri patterns. Wurlitzer varnish was used. A few violas were also recorded.
