(d. 1970)
Giuseppe Martino, originally from Messina, Sicily, emigrated to the USA in 1915. He was employed by O. H. Bryant in Boston, where his work carried Bryant's label. He continued his career at the Musician's Supply Co. from 1928 to 1935, followed by Peate's Music House in Ithaca, New York from 1935 to 1940. In 1940, he joined Chittalini in New York City and later returned to Boston, working at the Boston String Instrument Co. from 1958 to 1970. Although chiefly occupied with repair work, he completed over 100 violins, along with a few violas and cellos, using a Stradivari model with shaded varnish.
