Arthur L. Scholes




Arthur L. Scholes worked from c. 1890 to 1914 in Rushden, Northamptonshire, before moving to Bedford. He settled in Archer Street, London in 1926, but relocated to Bedford around 1940. He completed 99 violins based on the 1714 'Dolphin' Stradivari, Guarneri, and his personal models. His instruments featured good workmanship and materials, along with oil varnish. No. 11 was made in 1914.
