Guillaume Le Blond
Violin maker
(c. 1772 – 1789)
Guillaume Le Blond worked in London after Dunkirk, according to an inscription on a piano in the Berlin Music Museum. He plucked instruments in the Brussels and Berlin Museums. He created violins based on Stradivari-derived models. Fine cellos were made, including both Brescian and Rogeri models, all featuring good red-brown varnish. Some were branded: 'G. Le Blond Dunkerque'. Printed labels included: Le Blond Luthier / à Dunkerque 1789 Fait par G. Le Blond / à Dunkerque 1772.
