Founded in 1780, it became one of the largest and most significant businesses in Mirecourt. The company was known as Laberte Frères until 1925, when it merged with Fournier Magnié, which had been established in 1775 by Joseph Thiriot. This business was continued by Alexis Thiriot from 1786 to 1840, followed by Bauer-Bordet until 1872, and finally by Charles Drouin. Many skilled craftsmen, including Brugère, Poirson, the Somny brothers, Claude, Grandidier, Voirin, and Genin, were part of the staff. Laberte et Magnie produced fine instruments and bows in the great French tradition and absorbed the interests of other well-known Mirecourt houses, such as Nicolas and Derazey. It was branded internally as 'L. H. F. ' Laberte Humbert Frères / 1922. Mirecourt. No. 850. / Exposition Internationale. Bruxelles 1910. / Grand Prix.
