Matthias Johann Kolditz

Matthias Johann Kolditz specialized in low-arched models and forms derived from Stradivari. He created small scrolls, sometimes featuring additional carved embellishments on the pegbox. His varnish was a good red-brown. He produced fine violas and violins, with cellos occasionally featuring viol-like carved rosettes above the soundholes. He worked as a Lauten- und Geigenmacher in München in 1760 and in 1739.
