Adolf Baur
(1840 – 1873)
Adolf Baur was the son and pupil of Martin Baur. He worked for J. B. Vuillaume and took over his father's shop in 1870 in partnership with Adolf Sprenger. After his death just three years later, Sprenger operated independently from separate premises in Stuttgart. His workmanship reflected the style of Vuillaume, often based on the Guarneri model, but it lacked comparable varnish.
