August Moritz Knopf

Bow maker
(1857 – c. 1889)

Son of Karl Moritz Knopf (a cousin of the other branch of the Knopf family). Registered as a bow maker in Dresden from 1886–1888 and possibly the Knopf referred to as the manager of the Löwenthal shop in Berlin. No bows with his stamp are known but many bows with the Löwenthal stamp are reminiscent of Knopf family work. He is also said to have worked for Zimmermann in Moscow.
