Josef Mathias Knilling
(c. 1797 – 1838)
Josef Mathias Knilling was the son of Anton Knilling. He was regarded as the most sophisticated maker of the family. His cellos were also very fine, featuring a somewhat oversize Stradivari model with good materials and fine red brown oil varnish.
