Aldo Zani
Violin maker
(1906 – 1995)
Aldo Zani was self-taught and used personal and classical models. He applied a clear yellow varnish, which sometimes appeared as a darker golden-brown. He received medals in Rome in 1956 and 1957, Florence in 1957, Ascoli Piceno in 1959, Pegi in 1960, and Bagnacavallo in 1971 and 1978. A viola and two cellos were exhibited by him at Cremona in 1937.
