Emile Boulangeot apprenticed to E. Laurent in 1890. He later worked for Gustave Bernardel in Paris starting in 1893, and for Caressa and Francais until 1909. In 1913, he took over the shop of Blanchard in Lyons, succeeding to his position at the Lyons Conservatoire. He retired to Asnieres in 1928, passing the Lyons business to Georges Coue.
