Rudolph Höss

(c. 1679 – 1738)

Rudolph Höss was a lute and viol maker for the Bavarian Court. He was also credited with violins and violas based on the Stainer model. His varnish was a pale golden-brown, and he often utilized one-piece backs made of birds-eye maple.
