Joseph Voirin
Bow maker

Brother of Francois Nicolas Voirin. Bow maker. Trained in Mirecourt, probably with J. Simon. Established independently in Paris from 1855 in the rue Sainte Marguerite. Joined P. L. Gautrot at Chateau-Thierry near Paris in 1867, where he was the head of the bow department. Assisted by A. Lamy up to 1875, when he left to work for Joseph's brother François Nicolas. Fine bows, but lacking the finesse of those of his younger brother. Work rarely branded: JH VOIRIN A PARIS.
