Holm Viertel
Violin maker
(1865 – 1948)
Holm Viertel was a pupil of R. Paulus. He worked for Riechers in Berlin before establishing himself independently in Markneukirchen in 1888. In 1896, he moved to Aachen, returning to Markneukirchen in 1915. His work on the Stradivari model was notable, utilizing Riecher's spirit and oil varnish. He was assisted by his sons, Karl Georg and Walter.
