Arthur W. Howe

Arthur W. Howe was a self-taught maker, receiving some assistance from Sewell Boyce starting in 1897. He was active in Union, New York around 1939 before relocating to Endicott. His work included Stradivari and other classical models, utilizing oil varnish and demonstrating fine craftsmanship. Henley credited him with 50 violins by 1940, while Wenberg noted 'about 20 violins' in total.
