August Guth
(1840 – 1912)
August Guth studied under Bausch in Leipzig and Grimm in Berlin. He worked briefly in Breslau before establishing himself in Antwerp in 1888. His instruments featured models by Stradivari, Maggini, and others, using spirit varnish. He branded his work with 'A. G. ' and included a printed label stating: August Guth me fecit / Antverpiae anno 1908.
