Jules Sirgent worked as a pupil of E. Bourlier. He later worked for Thibouville-Lamy and subsequently for E. Germaine and L. Bernardel in Paris. He established himself independently at 105 Avenue Gambetta, Paris. In 1900, he was awarded a diploma of honour. His instruments featured classical Italian models with golden-yellow or yellow-brown oil varnish.
