Carl Friedrich Glass

(c. 1791 – 1810)

Early work was rather crude and often lacked linings or purfling, belonging to the School of Hopf. Later instruments were made on a Stradivari-derived model featuring a flatter arch. They had good golden-brown varnish and were branded with his name or initials.
