Paul Serdet
Violin maker
(1858 – 1934)
Paul Serdet apprenticed to Gaillard and J. Derazay. He worked for H. C. Silvestre in Lyons from 1877 to 1894. In 1894, he established himself independently in Paris at 28 rue de Faubourg Poissonière. He was awarded gold medals in 1889 and 1900. His work featured very fine craftsmanship on Stradivari and Guarneri models, with good transparent varnish in suitable colors.
