George Gaskin
Violin maker

George Gaskin was an amateur maker. One instrument received endorsement from Czech violinist and composer Jan Kubelik. He used reclaimed timber and a commercial varnish in a golden-yellow shade. He won a gold medal at the Crystal Palace Exhibition and a prize at the People's Palace Exhibition in East London.
