David E. Saunders

David E. Saunders studied under Goerge Orth in Seattle in 1948. He established himself in Renton in 1951, moving to Seattle in 1955. In 1957, he worked for John Chapin in San Francisco, but he settled in Seattle in 1958, first at Rainier Avenue and later on West Galer Street, until his retirement in 1985. His work was of very fine professional quality. He created copies of individual master instruments using fine oil varnish in appropriate shades. He was chiefly engaged in repair and restoration, with only seven instruments recorded.
