(1890 – 1950)

Hans Franze trained with M. Schmidt in Marneukirchen. He worked for Ackermann & Lesser and H. Schlesinger in Dresden, Kessler in Würzburg, E. Helt in Cologne, E. Gartner in Stuttgart, and P. Meinel in Basel. From 1920, he served as the chief repairer and maker for Hug & Co. in Basel. His fine work was modeled on a 1714 Stradivari violin.
