Joseph Fischer
(1746 – 1834)
Joseph Fischer was a pupil of Gedler in Füssen and worked briefly in Vienna before settling in Regensburg. His work included a large Stainer model that was well finished and accurate. He also created fine imitations of Stradivari with well-cut soundholes. Various varnishes were used, featuring glossy yellow-brown or red-brown. Printed and manuscript labels were present.
