Carl Friedrich Ficker
Violin maker
(1783 – 1849)
Carl Friedrich Ficker was the son, pupil, and successor of Johann Christian Ficker III. He was admitted to the violin maker's guild in 1806 and took over his father's business in 1822. Ficker produced inexpensive trade quality instruments based on the Stainer model, which featured a dull red varnish of little substance. His instruments were branded internally with 'C. F. F.'
