Jacques Charles Eve
(c. 1758 – 1790)
Jacques Charles Eve established himself at the sign 'A La Fortune' at various addresses: rue Dauphine, S. Germain around 1757, rue Culture S. Catharine around 1770, and rue Vieille-du-Temple around 1780. His early work featured Staineresque modelling with a full arch and deep edge flute, small soundholes, and an elongated scroll, finished with red spirit varnish. In his later period, he showed some improvement in the more extreme mannerisms and used a paler golden yellow varnish. He was located at rue S. André des Arts, near rue Dauphine Faubg. S. Ger main, at la Fortune, in Paris in 1757.
