Violin maker
(1878 – 1950)

Fritz Pulpaneck trained in Berlin and was active in Leipzig and Dusseldorf before emigrating to the USA in 1904. He worked in New York prior to establishing himself in Los Angeles in 1911. He created fine copies of Stradivari and Guarneri, using oil and spirit varnishes that ranged from orange to deep red-brown, sometimes shaded. A celebrated set of instruments was made for the Brahms Quartet.
