Joseph Pauli

Joseph Pauli was a pupil of J. G. Thir in Vienna. He established himself in Linz from 1805. His instruments featured a high-arched Stainer model with a somewhat extended soundhole. The scroll was Stradivarian, adorned with a nicely concentric volute. The varnish was dark, thin, and quite opaque.
