Enrico Orselli
Violin maker
(1891 – 1955)
Enrico Orselli was a pupil and assistant of Soffritti. He established himself independently in Pesaro from 1924. He was credited with 200 violins, 200 violas, 80 cellos, and eight double-basses, many of which carried Soffritti's label; some also featured apparently anachronistic dates. His work included Stradivari and Guarneri models, as well as others based on Guadagnini and Testore. He used a very fine golden-yellow varnish on a reddish base.
