Joseph Buchstetter
(c. 1775 – 1780)
Joseph Buchstetter was the son and pupil of Gabriel David Buchstetter, although he was generally regarded as lacking his father's refinement. He was, however, a very successful maker known for a finely disciplined model. His edges were somewhat heavier than those of Gabriel, but he featured fine extended purfling mitres that reached the very end of the corner in German style. His labels were also numbered, with this being the sixth instrument made in 1775.
