John Breckinbridge

(1790 – 1840)

John Breckinbridge was an amateur maker of some merit, favoring an Amati model. The varnish was a pale golden-brown or yellow spirit, rather thin but attractive. He crafted neat, narrow edges, with soundholes that were upright and close to the edge in Dutch fashion. The head was eccentric in the manner of Ford.
