Oreste Martini was a pupil of Scarampella. He received medals at Cremona, Padua, and Paris. He exhibited at Cremona in 1937. His instruments were based on classical Italian models. He crafted over 300 violins, 10 violas, 50 cellos, and 45 arched-back double basses. His varnish was red- or orange-brown. A double bass by him is located at the Museo Stradivariano in Cremona. He was awarded a gold medal and a grand prize at the Paris Exposition. He also received a grand prize and a gold medal at the Padua Exposition.
