Roman Boianciuc was a pupil of W. Pohoryles. He taught in various instrument making schools from 1934 to 1951. He established a large-scale manufactury for instruments in Reghin and served as director until 1979. Over 250 violins and bows were crafted by him, along with guitars. He received medals at Poznan, Liège, Cremona, and Sofia. His work included Stradivari and Guarneri models, featuring a golden yellow-brown spirit varnish.
