Roger François Lotte
Bow maker
(1922 – 1989)
Roger François Lotte was a bow maker, the son, pupil, and assistant of Francois Lotte. He began making bows alongside his father around 1936 and initially adopted his father's elegant and traditional style, later developing a more modern and heavier approach. He received assistance from R. Gerome and L. D. Jeandel in roughing out sticks and frogs, and was later joined by R. Bernard. Lotte remained prolific after his father's death in 1970, supplying bows to firms such as Hilaire & Apparut, R. & M. Millant, and E. Vatelot. He branded his work as ROGER FRANCOIS LOTTE and ROGER LOTTE. Lotte died in 1989.
