Marc André Joseph Laberte
Bow maker / Violin maker
(1880 – 1963)
Marc Laberte, son of Pierre Alexis Laberte, director of the family's substantial Mirecourt violin-making and dealing business, worked for the C.N. Bazin firm in 1906 before joining his own family's business in 1911 and again in 1921. His career subsequently took him further afield within the trade — working from home in 1926, with François Lotte in 1931, and finally in the workshop of Émile François Ouchard in 1936 — an itinerant pattern typical of the Mirecourt bow-making world of the period.
