Johann Kulik

Violin maker
(1800 – 1872)

Johann (Jan) Kulik was one of the leading Prague violin makers of the 19th century. Born in Domašín near Benešov in Bohemia, he trained first with Karel Šembera in Prague before moving to Vienna in 1820 to work with Martin Stoss. He returned to Prague and established his own workshop in 1824.
