Friedrich Kochendörfer
Violin maker
(1873 – c. 1923)
Friedrich Kochendörfer was the son and pupil of A. F. Kochendorfer. He apprenticed to Schunemann and worked in various German cities from 1888 before returning to the Stuttgart shop in 1895. In 1903, he was appointed as a teacher at the Mittenwald Violin Making School, later becoming Director, and he retired in 1922. The shop in Karlstrasse, E. R. & E. Kochendorfer, was maintained by various family members.
