Aloys Klein founded A. Klein et Cie in 1884, producing high-quality instruments on a commercial scale, with the workshop managed by Antoine Brubach. He was appointed to the Academy des Beaux Arts in 1887. His output was prolific, featuring good construction and materials along with bright red and yellow varnishes. The instruments were branded: 'A. Klein & Cie, Rouen'.
