Thomas Jacobsen
Violin maker
(1810 – 1853)
Apprenticed with a carpenter, Peder Hansen Holm, in Jutland, then with Niels Jensen Lund in Copenhage. From 1841 worked independently as a violin maker. Visited various European workshops including the Vuillaume shop in 1844-45. On his return to Copenhagen in 1847 he was appointed maker to the Royal Court. Died young from cholera.
