Daniel Dewar was a musician and violin maker. He was a friend of Matthew Hardie. He was listed at various addresses in Edinburgh: Burnet's Close in 1786, Toddrick's Wynd starting in 1788, Chalmer's Close from 1799, and Shakespeare Square from 1805.
