Wilhelm Otto


Violin maker

Wilhelm Otto was the son, pupil, and successor of Louis Otto. After serving an apprenticeship with Simoutre in Paris, he returned to Düsseldorf in 1900 and took over his father's business in 1920. He produced fine work on Stradivari and Guarneri models using good oil varnish. He was highly regarded as a restorer.
