That contribution included raising a stepson: when Husson remarried in 1857, to Jeanne Louise Collin, widow of Pierre Dominique Vigneron, he took her young son under his own roof and trained him at the bench from boyhood — the boy who would grow up to be known as "Vigneron Père." Husson himself had come up the same way a generation earlier, born in Mirecourt in 1823 to a lace-maker, Lucie Husson, and apprenticed under a bow maker of the Peccatte school; his own first signed bows, from the mid-to-late 1840s, already lean toward Simon and Maire rather than his own teacher's style, and his career as a whole helped move Mirecourt bow-making away from Peccatte's manner and toward the lighter touch of Voirin and Vuillaume.
