Rudolf Valentin was a mechanic and a self-taught violin maker who established himself professionally in 1909 on Potsdammer Strasse, Berlin. His work featured Cremonese models and was of good quality. Manuscript labels on his instruments read: "Rudolf Valentin Berlin, angefertigt Anno 19..".
