Anton Siebenhüner

Anton Siebenhüner was a violin and bow maker. He apprenticed with Gabriel Lembock in Vienna. He worked for two years alongside Andreas Engleder in Munich and was later active in Leipzig and Berlin. In 1872, he moved to the USA and served as the principal repairer for George Gemunder in New York. He established himself independently there in 1874. He received the first prize at the Philadelphia Exhibition in 1876. In 1878, he returned to Europe and settled in Zurich. His work featured very fine craftsmanship on the Stradivari model, utilizing excellent materials and a red varnish of soft texture.
